Our mission is to provide financial support to workers who’ve lost income for standing up for their rights on the job.

When workers organize, speak out, or take action to improve their workplaces, they often face retaliation — including lost hours, firings, and other financial punishments. Without a union or strong legal protections, many are left to choose between their paycheck and their rights.

Retaliation can lead to serious consequences: long-term income loss, blacklisting, eviction or food insecurity, mental health strain, and a deep loss of stability and dignity.

The Worker Solidarity & Defense Foundation exists to step in during these moments — providing financial relief and standing in solidarity with those who are targeted for demanding better.

Our vision is a future where workers can organize without fear — and where acts of retaliation are met with real accountability and collective support.

Our Values

Solidarity

We actively ally with the labor community and stand with workers who are organizing for fair treatment on the job.

Commitment

We’re steadfast and committed to providing charitable funds those who have been unfairly punished for exercising their right to fight for a better workplace.

Empowerment

By showing up with real support for unfairly punished workers, we help build the power and confidence it takes to organize—and that strengthens the movement for everyone.

Respect

We recognize the inherent dignity of those we serve and we honor their courage.

Justice

We fight for justice by confronting the economic harm workers face for organizing—and helping shift the balance of power back toward those demanding fair treatment.
